Meet The Founder

Gareth Harrison, PsyD, MBA - Clinical Psychologist

As the founder of Telos Psychological Services, I bring a distinctive combination of experiences that allows me to leverage my extensive clinical psychological training in unique ways that my clients find beneficial. These factors have also shaped how I view mental health, what it means to live a meaningful life, and how to get the most out of ourselves and our days.

Training and Experience. Prior to founding Telos Psychological Services, I worked and trained at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Washington, DC, honing my skills and deepening my knowledge of cognitive-behavioral and related therapies.

I graduated from Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology (Philadelphia, PA), earning my dual degree with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and MBA. I completed my doctoral internship at the La Salle University Student Counseling Center, and worked as an adjunct extern at the CBT Center for Anxiety & OCD (both in Philadelphia). I have experience working with a range of psychological difficulties, with clinical interests centering on anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anger, and significant life transitions.

Before beginning my clinical training, I worked for six years in relationship management, new business development, and new product development in multiple private sector organizations. I lean on this experience and expertise when working with all clients, and especially those whose difficulties impact their work lives.

Beyond the Credentials. Sports have always been a major part of my life. I've always joked that if someone is keeping score, I want a chance to play - or at least watch. My love of sports hasn’t diminished - I play ice hockey multiple times a week and golf whenever I can. I also enjoy reading, spending time outside with my family (including our dog, Lou), and finding new and creative ways to spectacularly fail at cooking.
